Our middle school started off with our standard foundational classes in the fall, but merged together this spring, resulting in an exciting change where 7th graders got a sneak peek at next year and 8th graders got a bit of a refresh from last year as well. We ran our virtual and hybrid programs pretty closely so all students received similar middle school experiences.

The students learned about theatrical designers and the steps they go through to achieve their creations. Using many sources of inspiration students researched, sketched, and ultimately created designs in all areas. As a result, we have a variety of projects to showcase from this year in every area of theatrical design.

Students even got the chance to help out on the Musical Theater virtual middle school shows with costumes, hair, makeup, and virtual backgrounds—an updated version of our normal 8th grade collaboration with MT.  ​
